Domantas Sabonis Signing Amid Outstanding Playoff Series (Photo)

Domantas Sabonis signing in Cleveland during playoffsLance Martinez of My Detroit Sports sent along this original photo of Pacers forward Domantas Sabonis signing autographs, outside The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland hotel, prior to Game 5 of the Pacers first round series against the Cavaliers.

Sabonis was originally drafted by the Magic, with he and Victor Oladipo getting traded to the Thunder, as part of a 2016 draft night trade. Interestingly enough, the very same duo was traded to the Pacers, last summer, as part of the Paul George deal.

During his first season in Indy, Sabonis averaged 11.6 points and 7.7 rebounds a game, helping the Pacers to the fifth seed.

During the team’s recent series against the Cavs, Sabonis played very well, tallying 12.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest. The 21-year-old scored at least 19 points in three of the games.

After narrowly losing a hard-fought seven-game series to Cleveland, it appears that the Pacers got the better end of the Sabonis and Oladipo for George transaction.
