iFolloSports.com NBA Finals Thoughts: GSW Leads 2-0
Sunday evening, the Warriors took care of the Cavaliers, 132-113, in another convincing victory at Oracle Arena. Once again, the duo of Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant dominated. Curry netted 32 points and Durant tallied 33, with the pair combining for 8 three-point makes. All told, Steph finished the night with a triple-double, while KD grabbed 13 boards.
In addition, struggling Klay Thompson finally got it going, scoring a solid 22 points.
The Cavs hung with the Warriors for a while, as LeBron James posted yet another big game, garnering a triple-double of 29 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds. Kevin Love also came strong with 27 points, but it simply was not enough against this kind of team.
The Cavs possess a talented roster, but the Warriors are playing better than an NBA team has looked in a long time. The combination of GSW’s up tempo play, three-point shooting and Durant’s excellent interior defense remains so incredibly hard to overcome.
Even though we were in this same position last season, with GSW leaving Oakland up 2-0, the Warriors are a totally different team due to the addition of Durant and the continued availability of Draymond Green (suspended for Game 5 of 2016 finals). As a result, Cleveland’s chances of repeating are looking bleaker by the day.
Game 3 tips off in Cleveland, Wednesday night at 9:00 ET.
