James, Wade & Heat Oblivious To Fans (Video)

On April, 1 the Miami Heat were in Minneapolis to play the Timberwolves. This was the Heats’ only appearance in Minnesota this season. Much like every other NBA city they travel to, it was a big deal to the locals. There was an enormous amount of fans standing outside of the Graves 601 Hotel, located directly across the street from Target Center.

Each time the hotel door opened, there was heavy anticipation regarding if it was going to be LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, or Chris Bosh. When it was someone else, fans seemed disappointed. It had an almost a pre rock concert atmosphere, with fans waiting to see a huge musician walking out of their hotel. One that rarely performs in that given city.

After a while, I headed over to the loading dock area, outside of the Target Center. This is where the Heat would be getting off their buses to enter the arena. Interestingly, the team hopped on charter buses for what amounted to be a trip around the corner. Even the Lakers walked across the street, when they had stayed at the same hotel earlier in the season.

The first players off the second Heat bus included Mario Chalmers, Juwan Howard and Mike Miller. They all walked into the arena without stopping to acknowledge fans.

A few minutes later, Chris Bosh got off the bus and also walked right inside without stopping.

Then, Udonis Haslem got off the bus. He was followed by LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. As James and Wade exited the vehicle, a huge number of fans began to scream for their autographs. Both players walked right into arena, looking straight ahead the entire time, as seen on this ifollosports.com original video.

Fans were disappointed, but this year’s Heat roster has been known to be a tough autograph.
