Since the deal was made, the excitement level in Minnesota has been sky high from both fans and the Wolves organization.

Since arriving in the Twin Cities on Sunday, Butler has received the red carpet treatment, including from other Twin Cites based pro sports teams. Both the Twins and Vikings have given Butler and Head Coach/President of Basketball Operations Tom Thibodeau behind the scenes tours of the Twins home of Target Field and US Bank Stadium, the Vikings home stadium and the site of Super Bowl 52, this February.

Thursday morning, the Wolves officially introduced Butler in the rotunda area of the Mall of America. Fans showed up in droves to welcome and catch a glimpse of the three-time All-Star. Thibodeau, general manager Scott Layden and even young star Karl-Anthony Towns were in attendance at the presser.

The Timberwolves have not made the playoffs for 13 years, which is the longest current streak in the NBA. Other moves in recent years have gotten fans hopes up, but with the young core and the addition of a star like Jimmy Butler (in his prime), Minnesota finally takes on the appearance of a playoff bound team.
