J.J. Barea Appearance At MN Grocery Store (Video)

J.J. Barea is a point guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, in his seventh NBA season.Barea, a native of Puerto Rico, played college basketball at Northeastern University, before signing with the Dallas Mavericks as an undrafted free agent, in 2006. Barea has also competed as a member of Puerto Rico's national basketball team, winning several medals during his many years of international competition.

Barea's first five years were spent with the Mavericks (2006-2011). During his first two campaigns in Dallas, Barea did not get a lot of minutes, but with each season, his role grew. During the Mavericks championship run in 2011, Barea really shined. In the clinching Game 6 of the NBA Finals, against the Miami Heat, the speedy guard totaled 15 points.

After the finals, the Mavericks only offered Barea a one-year contract, so the two parties decided to part ways. Prior to the 2011-2012 season, the Minnesota Timberwolves signed him to a four-year contract, worth approximately $19 million. Since coming to Minnesota, Barea has battled some injures, but when healthy, has played pretty well, averaging 11 points per game.

Above is iFolloSports.com original video of Barea signing autographs at a Cub Foods grocery store, in the Twin Cities suburb of St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Despite the Timberwolves disappointing and injury riddled season, the large gathering of fans was still excited to see Barea on Tuesday evening, with the 28-year-old acting very cordial in return.
