Kenyon Martin Reacquainting With NBA Fans (Video)

12-year NBA big man Kenyon Martin has put together a very solid professional career, since the New Jersey Nets selected him with the first overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft out of the University of Cincinnati.

During his four-year stint with the Nets and seven-year tour with the Denver Nuggets, Martin has averaged 13.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. These numbers are not necessarily on par with the expectations of a number one overall pick, but they have earned Martin a high level of respect from both fellow players and fans throughout the NBA.

During the lockout-shortened portion of this current NBA season, Martin elected to bring his physicality overseas, signing a one-year contract with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Martin was released from his Chinese deal on February 2, allowing him to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers on February 3. Since joining LA's suddenly most exciting team, K-Mart has posted 5.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game.

Last week, prior to the Clippers 109-97 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves at Staples Center, Martin was seen signing autographs and interacting with fans, per the above original video.

One has to think that at this point in his career, Kenyon Martin's number one goal is to win an NBA championship. If he ends up staying with the Clippers for the next few seasons, the 6-9 power forward might just get that chance, serving as a backup for the spectacular Blake Griffin.
