Lakers Lonzo Ball Signing Autographs During Rookie Season (Video)

Lonzo Ball Signing AutographsHere is original video of Lakers polarizing point guard Lonzo Ball signing autographs. This clip was provided by Lance Martinez of My Detroit Sports and took place prior to a Lakers regular season game at Little Caesars Arena, the Pistons and Red Wings new home venue.

Lonzo is of course the son of the very controversial and outspoken LaVar Ball and is a member of the famous (or infamous) Ball family. LaVar’s continual public utterances placed a bullseye on Lonzo, particularly the elder’s claim that Lonzo will be better than Stephen Curry.

Amid all the hype and attention garnered by Ball, during his one season at UCLA, the Lakers selected Lonzo with the second pick in the 2017 draft.

LaVar’s other two basketball playing sons (LiAngelo and LaMelo) have also found themselves in the news.

LiAngelo’s lone season at UCLA eventually ended after he was arrested for shoplifting in China. Following his departure from the Bruins, the 19-year-old played professionally in Lithuania. He is now back in the US hoping to be selected in the upcoming NBA Draft.

16-year-old LaMelo dropped out of high school to join his brother in Lithuania. He has also returned to Southern California, where he is a part of the Junior Basketball Association.

As for Lonzo, his rookie season was pretty underwhelming, especially compared to some other rookies like Ben Simmons and Donovan Mitchell. The 20-year-old scored 10.2 points and dished out 7.2 assists, while missing 30 games, due to a series of nagging injuries.
