Lamar Odom Spotted At Marina Del Rey Restaurant
As the 2012-13 NBA season gets underway, there may not be a happier basketball player than Los Angeles Clippers forward Lamar Odom.
Odom's 2011-12 season involved a rescinded trade from his beloved Los Angeles Lakers, to the New Orleans Hornets, followed by a subsequent trade to the Dallas Mavericks, after Odom refused to return to the Lake Show, as a result of some very hurt feelings.
Last December, iFolloSports.com was present when Odom stormed away from the Lakers practice facility, shortly after NBA commissioner David Stern vetoed the proposed deal with New Orleans.
Amid a very discontented and unproductive stint in Dallas, Odom was literally sent home by Mavs owner Mark Cuban, in midseason no less.
Simply put, Odom could not stand the idea of playing NBA basketball, anywhere but in his adopted hometown of Los Angeles.
In June, Odom's bout of LA homesickness was lifted, when the New York native was traded to the Clippers, as part of a four-team transaction (DAL, LAC, UT, HOU), that also involved guard Moe Williams ending up with the Jazz.
Odom began his career with the Clips, but now returns to a far more talented roster than the non playoff team he once was a part of.
Tuesday, Odom was spotted in the LA coastal area of Marina Del Rey, the day before the Clippers opening night matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies.
The 6-10 lefty was seen leaving his Mercedes Benz G-Class SUV, before briefly stopping through the Fresh Brothers Italian restaurant. During his brief stop through the strip mall, Odom said hello to fans, while even stopping to pose for some cell phone photos.
Ironically, Odom was later noticed walking through the Ritz-Carlton, Marina Del Rey, the Mavs lodging destination of choice, prior to their opening night game with the Los Angeles Lakers.
So, while Odom is clearly thrilled to be back in LA, it appears that he did build some solid relationships, during his albeit rocky tenure in the state of Texas.
