Las Vegas Takes Notice Of LA's New Stars
The Los Angeles Lakers' acquisitions of Steve Nash and Dwight Howard have been noticed not only in Southern California, but also in the great city of Las Vegas.
According to the sharpies at the Las Vegas Hotel sportsbook (former Las Vegas Hilton), the Lakers are now 9-4 co-favorites, along with the Miami Heat, to win the 2012-13 NBA title.
Los Angeles was listed at 12-1, before Nash and Howard joined the team over the summer.
The Oklahoma City Thunder, who lost in last season's finals to the Heat, is the third choice at 4-1.
The Chicago Bulls come in at 10-1, with the San Antonio Spurs next at 12-1.
The Boston Celtics are pegged at 20-1, just ahead of the Indiana
Pacers at 25-1.
The LA Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies and Philadelphia 76ers are all 30-1.
The New York Knicks, Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks all come in at 40-1.
The Minnesota Timberwolves and Brooklyn Nets stand at 100-1.
If you like long shots, the Toronto Raptors are listed at 500-1, while the Charlotte Bobcats and Orlando Magic bring up the rear at 1000-1.
