Pau Gasol Signing Autographs In MPLS | Video
Pau Gasol, the much discussed power forward of the Los Angeles Lakers, was a major contributor to the Lakers championship teams of 2009 and 2010. Since the back-to-back tile run, Gasol has found himself in and out of favor with both the LA organization and its fan base, during the subsequent three-year period.
Prior to the start of last season, Gasol was famously involved in a rescinded trade to the Houston Rockets. Since his unexpected return to LA, Gasol has also been rumored to be heading to the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves and again to those Rockets. Even as recently as a few weeks ago, Gasol lost his starting job, which he at least for the moment has gotten back.
Despite all of the drama from Lakers Nation, as well as LA's coaching staff and front office, Gasol has always been all class in his dealings with fans.
Above is an iFolloSports.com original video of Gasol posing for photos and signing autographs for fans last Friday. This scene took place less than an hour before the Lakers 111-100 victory, over the Minnesota Timberwolves, at the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis. In that contest, Gasol got the start and had a nice game, totaling 22 points and 11 rebounds.
Fans lined up for a shot at a coveted Pau Gasol autograph.
Signing autographs has been a common occurrence for Gasol, particularly within the pages of iFolloSports.com. Last season, iFolloSports.com captured additional original video of Gasol, outside the Lakers' Minneapolis hotel, just after it looked like he was actually going to be traded to Houston.
In Los Angeles, iFolloSports.com has filmed Gasol stopping many times for his many fans. Here are two occasions outside of the Lakers practice facility, the Toyota Sports Center. The first interaction took place during this year's training camp, with the other clip occurring amid last spring's NBA postseason.
Gasol was even very affable to fans, when spending time away from the basketball court. Check out this iFolloSports.com original video clip of the Spaniard, outside of Staples Center, before Game 3 of the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals between the Los Angeles Kings and the New Jersey Devils.
