Pau Gasol Signing At Lakers Training Camp (Video)

Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol is poised to have a far more relaxing season, than the one he endured during the lockout-shortened 2011-12 campaign.

After a year that included a rescinded trade to the Houston Rockets, as well as continual rumors involving the two-time NBA champion's potential move to everywhere from Boston to Minnesota, Gasol begins this season firmly cemented on LA's very stacked roster of stars.

Now that he is staying put in Southern California, the four-time All-Star/two-time Olympic silver medalist should have plenty of room to operate in and around the paint, when taking the court next to newly acquired behemoth center Dwight Howard. Gasol and Howard will bring a combined height of 14 feet to the floor, while driving opponents crazy with the talented Spaniard's finesse/multidimensional style and the Georgia native's sheer power around the rim.

Despite last season's swirling soap opera, Gasol was still able to produce at his standard level of quality and consistency. His 17.4 points per game came in just below career averages, with his 10.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists actually exceeding the totals he had accumulated over an 11-year career.

It will be very interesting to see how the 32-year-old big man performs when factoring in the unique combination of talented teammates that surround him and the peace of mind he now surely feels within himself.

What a nice situation to be a part of.

Tuesday, Gasol, in what has become a common occurrence, both at home and on road trips, stopped to sign some signatures for a bevy of adoring LA hoops fan, after the first full day of Lakers training camp.

This scene, which took place outside the Toyota Sports Center, is visible per the above original video clip.

Pau, like his younger brother Marc, always seems to find time for their family's many fans.
