The Pistons and Red Wings New Arena Is A Big Deal For Detroit
Last week, the Detroit Pistons announced that next season they will be joining the Detroit Red Wings as co-tenants in the brand new Little Caesars Arena, located in Midtown Detroit, just north of the city’s downtown. The $732 million stadium will be the centerpiece of a $650 million surrounding development called The District Detroit, which will house retail, commercial, residential and hotel entities.
The overarching goal of the mega project is to further invigorate Detroit’s urban core by connecting the Pistons and Red Wings home venue with the Tigers and Lions dual stadium area, which sits just three blocks away.

In addition to relocating their game day operation 30 miles south from The Palace of Auburn Hills, the Pistons are expected to build a new headquarters/practice facility in close proximity to the franchise’s new arena location.
