A Preview Of NYC's Brand New NBA Rivalry: Round Three

Knicks and Nets reenergized rivalryWednesday night, the 18-6 New York Knicks host their crosstown rivals, the 13-11 Brooklyn Nets. The game will be broadcast on ESPN. The Knicks 18-6 mark is the best in the Eastern Conference and is tied for second best in the entire NBA. New York has won four of its last five games, while Brooklyn comes in losers of seven of its last nine. Carmelo Anthony, the NBA's second leading scorer, is a game-time decision (ankle/knee injury).

The Knicks were 10-0 at Madison Square Garden, before a 109-96 loss to Jeremy Lin and the Houston Rockets on Monday.

Wednesday night will already be the third matchup this season, in what is now a reenergized rivalry, between these two New York City based franchises. The teams have split their first two meetings, thus far in 2012-2013.
