Resurgent Knicks Take On The Suddenly Aging Celtics

Knicks finish season winning 16 of 18Saturday, the number two seeded, 54-28 New York Knicks, take on the seven seeded, 41-40 Boston Celtics, in a first round Eastern Conference matchup.

The Celtics are not the same team they have been the last several years, due to old age, the loss of Ray Allen to the Miami Heat (during the offseason) and point guard Rajon Rondo's torn ACL, which occurred earlier this season.

For the Knicks, the 2012-2013 campaign represented the best basketball the team has played in years. NYC's return to prominence was highlighted by Carmelo Anthony winning the NBA scoring title, averaging an outstanding 28.7 points per game.

The Knicks took three of four from the Celtics, during the regular season, and come into this series winning 16 of their last 18 games overall. In contrast, the Celtics have dropped 6 of their last 9, heading into the second season.
