Ronny Turiaf Throwing Out The First Pitch (Video)

Entering his ninth NBA season, big man Ronny Turiaf's nomadic career has allowed him the opportunity to take the floor in Los Angeles (twice), Oakland, New York, Washington and Miami. This season, the 30-year-old Gonzaga alum will add another municipality to his résumé, when he laces his sneakers up for the Minnesota Timberwolves. After averaging between 14 and 21 minutes per game, during a seven-season stretch that included two NBA Finals appearances with the Lakers and Heat respectively (won 2012 title with Miami), Turiaf only found his way onto the court for an average of 10 minutes, last season with the Clippers.

This upcoming season, Turiaf will most likely serve as a big body off the Wolves bench, as well as an all-important locker-room leader, armed with the championship credibility to provide guidance to a young and talented Minnesota roster. After earning nearly $20 million in his career (not including the $1.5 million he will take home this season), something tells us that enthusiastically waving a towel, while playing only a few minutes a game, will be just fine for the 2012 French National Team member.

Monday, per the above iFolloSports.com original video, Turiaf stopped through Target Field to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Minnesota Twins home game versus the Detroit Tigers.

Turiaf's presence at the ballpark capped off a week of multiple community and philanthropic appearances, in which the Martinique native graciously introduced himself to the people of the Twin Cities.
