Rubio Brings The “It” Factor To MN (Video)

Ricky Rubio, the sensational rookie point guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, has instantly sparked a previously downtrodden franchise to a 13-13 record entering Friday night's home game versus the Dallas Mavericks. This is the first time in six years that the Wolves have been .500 or better after 26 games.

Rubio is averaging 10.9 points and 8.8 assists per game. As a result, the Spaniard will participate in the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge during All-Star Weekend in Orlando.

Rubio, along with All-Star teammate Kevin Love, have brought back a level of excitement to a Twin Cities fan-base that had not shown much interest over the last few years. Rubio has already become a fan favorite, selling many jerseys throughout the area.

Above is original video of Rubio interacting with fans and warming up, prior to the Timberwolves 86-84 victory over the Kings on Tuesday night at the Target Center in Minneapolis.  Rubio totaled 6 points, 14 assists and 5 steals in the win.

Also, take a look at additional original video and photos from Rubio's first press conference as an NBA player last June.

Since that warm summer day, the Barcelona native has definitely taken Minnesota and the NBA by storm.
