Long Beach Native Shabazz Muhammad Signing Autographs At AT&T Store | Video
Shabazz Muhammad is a rookie forward/shooting guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Muhammad, a Long Beach, California native, played one year at UCLA, before the Utah Jazz selected him with the 14th pick in last year's draft. Muhammad was immediately sent to Minnesota, in a draft day trade, that involved Trey Burke going to Utah and Gorgui Dieng also heading to Minny.
Most of Muhammad's rookie campaign was spent on the bench, as he saw very little playing time for the first four months of the season. The lefty finally cracked the rotation, after the All-Star break. In limited playing time, Muhammad averaged 3.9 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. His season ended early, after suffering an MCL sprain.
