Sit Down Interview With Chris Webber (Video)

Earlier this week, posted interviews with former Michigan State greats Mateen Cleaves and Morris Peterson, conducted by Michigan correspondent Lance Martinez, at Cleaves' 1 Goal 1 Passion basketball camp.

Not to be outdone by the 2000 national champions from East Lancing, a rather famous Michigan alum, by the name of Chris Webber, also stopped through the Flint (MI) portion of the camp, after being invited to do so by Cleaves. While at Kettering University, the five-time NBA All-Star also took a few minutes to sit down with Lance.

Above is original video of the interview, along with a look at some of Webber's speech to campers, as well as his instruction to the young ballplayers in attendance.

The preeminent member of Ann Arbor's legendary Fab Five discussed the greatness of Cleaves' camp, while also noting the charitable partnership that exists between him and Cleaves.

During the course of the interview, Lance showed Webber a photo of the two men, ironically captured 20 years ago (to the day), when Lance was a young boy. The August 1994 picture occurred shortly after Webber's Rookie of the Year season with the Golden States Warriors. In light of the vintage shot, the now 41-year-old Webber agreed to recreate the scene, in present-day form. Both old and new images are visible in the video.

After a 15-season career, spent most notably with the Sacramento Kings, Webber has seamlessly transitioned into the world of broadcasting, stating opinions on both TNT and NBATV.

At the moment, Webber and his wife Erika call the LA beach enclave of Malibu home.
