Timberwolves Rookie Justin Patton Meeting Fans (Video)
Here is iFolloSports.com original video of Timberwolves rookie center Justin Patton signing autographs, last weekend, as part of a Crave Sports Company event. The gathering was held at Valley West Mall, in the Twin Cities suburb of Bloomington, Minnesota.
The Timberwolves selected Patton with the 16th pick of this past June's NBA draft. That selection was part of the blockbuster Timberwolves-Bulls trade, which brought Jimmy Butler to Minnesota, with Zach LaVine and Kris Dunn relocating to Chicago. As part of the deal, the Timberwolves and Bulls also swapped the 7th and 16th picks of the draft.
After sitting out as a red-shirt freshman, the Omaha native played one season at Creighton, posting a very solid 12.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game for the Bluejays.
Perhaps lost in the shuffle of the big name, young Timberwolves roster were the high hopes the team had for the athletic center. Unfortunately, the 20-year-old Patton broke his foot, while training over the summer, and remains out indefinitely. Hopefully for Patton and the Timberwolves, the seven-footer will make a full recovery and be able to play in his rookie season.
