Here is an up close original photo of Hawks rookie Trae Young signing autographs, courtesy of Lance Martinez of My Detroit Sports. This scene took place earlier this season, outside of a Detroit area hotel.

A Trae Young autograph was in high demand on this winter day.

The Mavericks selected Young with the fifth pick in last June’s draft, with Dallas then sending him to Atlanta, in exchange for likely rookie of the year Luka Doncic.

Young has posted a nice rookie campaign in the ATL. Heading into the All-Star break, the Oklahoma alum is averaging 16.9 points and 7.6 assists per game.

Despite Young’s strong rookie effort, the rebuilding Hawks sit at 19-39, which of course places them way out of the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Young will be participating in the MTN DEW ICE Rising Stars game at All-Star Weekend in Charlotte.
