Warriors At Spurs Game 5 Provides A Whole Lot Of Intrigue
Tuesday night, with their Western Conference semifinals series tied 2-2, the San Antonio Spurs host the Golden State Warriors, in a pivotal Game 5. Under Gregg Popovich, the Spurs are 7-3 in Game 5's (in a best-of-seven series) when tied 2-2. Incidentally, San Antonio has lost their last two games, when playing amid the above scenario.
The Warriors squandered a 16-point lead (with four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter), eventually losing Game 1 on a last second Manu Ginobili shot in overtime. Golden State's impressive Game 2 win finally broke the team's epic 30-game losing streak in the Alamo City. During the first four games of the series, the teams have alternated wins and losses in each contest.
2013 marks the first time since 1977 that the Warriors have won as much as two games in a second round NBA playoff series.
