Where Did The Suns Come From?
The Phoenix Suns produced a subpar first half of the NBA season, where the only bit of potential news centered around the possible trade of future Hall of Famer Steve Nash. At the All-Star break, Phoenix had a 14-20 record and were not even a thought when discussing the Western Conference playoff picture.
Since the break, the Suns are 9-2 and now stand a half game out of the eighth spot in the West, heading into Tuesday's game against the Miami Heat. Even more amazing, the Suns are suddenly just three and a half games out of fourth place in the conference.
Nash, fellow elder statesman Grant Hill, and newly acquired old guy Michael Redd have been instrumental in the team's resurgence, as they have meshed well with the Suns younger core of players.
Phoenix's winning streak will be put to the test over the next couple weeks, as the Suns will play 12 of their next 15 games away from US Airways Arena.
