Will Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond Lead The Pistons Back To Prominence? (Video)
Lance Martinez from My Detroit Sports sends over the below original piece of video showcasing Pistons stars Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond signing autographs at Little Caesars Arena, the club’s midtown Detroit home venue.
The Pistons acquired Griffin in late January, with the hopes of putting together a frontcourt pairing of the high-flying Griffin and physically imposing Drummond, which would hopefully elevate the franchise back to being a perianal playoff participant.
Thus far, the results have been mixed.
Since Griffin relocated from LA to Michigan, the Pistons have gone 7-10, with the club winning their first five games, before going on to lose 10 out of 12.
So, the jury remains very much out.
In the five weeks since donning a Pistons jersey, Griffin is averaging 19.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game.
For the season, Drummond has posted numbers of 15.1 points and a league leading 15.8 rebounds per contest.
Time will tell if the Pistons’ new approach leads the franchise back to its previous greatness, or extends this current and uncomfortable period of mediocrity.
