Buddy Hield & OU Teammates Departing Anaheim Hotel (Video)

Above is iFolloSports.com original video of Oklahoma Sooners superstar guard Buddy Hield, as well as many of his teammates, departing the Wyndham Anaheim Garden Grove hotel, two hours prior to OU’s 80-68 victory over Oregon, in the West Region Final. The Sooner players journey from the elevator to the bus was accompanied by the school’s band playing the famous “Boomer Sooner” fight song, while joined by cheerleaders and other supporters.

In Saturday’s 12-point triumph, Hield notched an extremely impressive 37 points.

Hield, a 22-year-old native of the Bahamas, represents a very rare phenomenon in modern college basketball, in that he is a star who has stayed in school for all four years of eligibility.

This season, the 6’4 guard averaged 25.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. His 25 PPG output represents a rise of 8 full points, as compared to last season’s production. Hield has already been named Big 12 Player of the Year (second year in a row) and first team All-American. As a result of these accolades, Hield is the odds on favorite to win the national player of the year award.

The projected lottery pick’s trip to Anaheim also included a photo with his hero, NBA icon/Orange County resident Kobe Bryant.

Bryant resides in Newport Beach, 20 miles southwest of Anaheim’s Honda Center.
