Friday Was An All-Time Day Of NCAA Upsets

Friday Was An All-Time Day Of NCAA Upsets Last Friday was the most surprising day in NCAA tournament history, as there were seven upsets in the 16 games played.

The two losses with the largest impact on the brackets were by number two seeds Duke and Missouri.  The Blue Devils were stoned by lowly Lehigh 75-70, while the Tigers were beaten by Norfolk State 86-84. A number fifteen had defeated a number two seed only four times in history before this year.

Missouri was a trendy pick to get to the Final Four, while Duke was---well Duke.

#13 Ohio University ousted #4 Michigan 65-60 and #12 South Florida ground up #5 Temple 58-44, in two other huge surprises.

#11 North Carolina State outstated #6 San Diego State 79-65, with #10 Xavier shamrocking #7 Notre Dame 67-63, only hours before St. Patrick's Day.

In addition, #9 St. Louis eliminated #8 Memphis.

As brackets were being shredded all over the country, Friday was a fabulous day of college basketball, unless you bet on all the favorites.
