Tom Izzo: A Michigan Sports Icon (Photo)

Saturday night, Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo will lead the Spartans against Mike Krzyzewski and the Duke Blue Devils, in the first national semifinal game of the 2015 Final Four. 2015 marks Izzo's seventh Final Four appearance, since arriving in East Lansing, back in 1995.  The pinnacle of Izzo's career occurred in 2000, when he guided MSU to their first national title since Magic Johnson point guarded the school's iconic 1979 squad.

In February, Izzo, a Iron Mountain, Michigan native, was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place at Sound Board, located within the walls of the MotorCity Casino Hotel.  Above is an iFolloSports.com original photo of Izzo, gathered at the induction event, by Michigan based correspondent Lance Martinez.

Fans of Sparty can also check out Martinez's interviews with Mateen Cleaves and Morris Peterson, in conjunction with the 2000 champs appearance at Cleaves' basketball camp.
