Zion Williamson Takes Home Some Hardware At The Final Four | Video
Sunday, superstar Duke freshman Zion Williamson was awarded the 2019 Citizen Naismith Trophy (college basketball’s most outstanding player), during the Naismith Awards Brunch presented by Mortenson. The annual gala was held at the Nicollet Island Pavilion, located on Minneapolis’ Nicollet Island, just off of downtown Minneapolis, on the Mississippi River. The venue sits 1.2 miles north of US Bank Stadium.
Below is a look at Williamson’s reaction to the announcement, as well as a post event interview with NCAA.com’s Andy Katz.

"It’s another team award for me because without my teammates, I wouldn’t be here. They pushed me past my limits. I can’t thank (them) enough for it.”@DukeMBB's Zion Williamson, @NaismithTrophy POY, thanks his brothers for helping him achieve greatness this year. @TheAndyKatz pic.twitter.com/KJCMl2DiZb

The freshman phenom was nothing less than dominant during his one and likely lone season in Durham, posting 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. When combining these numbers with an 18-year-old body that already amasses a freakish 6’7, 285 lbs. frame, there is little doubt that the South Carolina product will be chosen with the first overall pick in June’s NBA Draft.
