Charlie Weis Takes On His Own Campus Newspaper

You would think Kansas head coach Charlie Weis would have more important things to worry about.  

Weis' 1-3 Jayhawks were coming off losses to Rice and Northern Illinois, while preparing to face archrival (now #6 ranked) Kansas State last Saturday, in the Sunflower Showdown.

Instead, Weis seemed more concerned with the Kansas student newspaper.

Thursday, after The University Daily Kansan (UDK) published an unflattering article about the KU squad, Weiss tweeted: 

"Team slammed by our own school newspaper. Amazing!  No problem with opponents paper or local media.  You deserve what you get!  But not home!"

The tweet referred to a UDK cover illustration, featuring a muscular Willie the Wildcat about to devour a puny Jayhawk. The piece was accompanied by the headline:  "Road Kill Ahead" (pictured upper right).

Meanwhile, back on the playing field, Kansas (a 24-point road underdog) lost to KSU 56-16, dropping their record to 1-4 for the season.

Seems like the KU student paper knew what they were writing about.
