Coaching Drama At Wisconsin & Houston After Unexpected Defeats

Mike Markuson fired and Bart Miller new Wisconsin offensive line coachWisconsin suffered a stunning upset Saturday, losing on the road to Oregon State 10-7. As a result of the defeat, the Badgers dropped out of the top 25 football rankings.

Monday, the school announced the firing of offensive line coach Mike Markuson, who had been hired just this past winter. The 51-year-old Markuson lasted only two games in his new job.

In a move that smacks of desperation, the vaunted Wisconsin offensive line will now be coached by graduate assistant Bart Miller.

A weekend loss was also unkind to University of Houston offensive coordinator Mike Nesbitt. The Cougars were held to 13 points in their season-opening loss, at the hands of instate rival Texas State.

Afterwards, Nesbitt whose tenure in Houston lasted only one game, abruptly resigned.

Just one question----what the heck is going on?
