An inside look at UW's & TCU's life in Los Angeles

As the Wisconsin Badgers and Texas Christian Horned Frogs prepare for Saturday's Rose Bowl, their visits to Los Angeles have centered around two main points of interest, the team hotels and the team practice fields. Below is an inside look at the bases of operation for both universities.

The Wisconsin hotel headquarters is the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. This property is located on Los Angeles' Westside, immediately adjacent to the heart of Beverly Hills.

A Thursday morning walk through the lobby of the hotel meant an encounter with 1999 Heisman Trophy Winner Ron Dayne.  Dayne and numerous other fans have taken over this legendary LA hotel.

TCU's hotel headquarters is the J.W. Marriott at LA Live.  This recently opened facility is located in Downtown Los Angeles, directly across the street from Staples Center.

There were no Heisman Trophy winners present, but a trip through this lobby meant the sight of many fans showing off the color purple.

Both teams are practicing at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California. The venue is 22 miles south of the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza and 15 miles south of the J.W. Marriott. Both teams were working out simultaneously on Thursday, at opposite ends of the massive facility.

Here is a look at Badgers practice, along with the team's motorcade parked right next to the field. Security is notoriously tight during game preparation, so this view is about as close as one can get.

Below are shots of the TCU players leaving their practice field. Freshman linebacker Blake Roberts was all smiles while walking with his teammates.
