Michael McAdoo Versus The NCAA
A recent Superior Court judge ruling denied a ridiculous lawsuit by a onetime North Carolina defensive lineman to be reinstated to the team, after being ruled permanently ineligible by the NCAA.
6-7, 245 lbs. lineman Michael McAdoo had previously filed a lawsuit against North Carolina and the NCAA seeking reinstatement after being ruled permanently ineligible for academic misconduct. The suit also asked for unspecified damages for "gross negligence" in ruling him ineligible based on inaccurate information.
McAdoo was suspended for receiving improper assistance with his academics and term papers by a tutor. But, why include UNC in the suit when it was an NCAA suspension?
McAdoo was also suspended for the 2010 season for receiving improper benefits, along with seven of his teammates. North Carolina had previously appealed McAdoo's ineligibility, but at the hearing, their attorneys sat together with lawyers from the NCAA.
