Mysterious Billboard Appears, Then Disappears In Gainesville

A mysterious billboard briefly appeared near the Florida Gators' Gainesville campus recently, promoting Texas A&M, while taking a few shots at the SEC.

The sign, which was later removed, said the following:

"Howdy Gainesville: You've been annexed by Aggie Nation. The Best Academic & Cleanest Program in the SEC. WHOOP! Real Football. Real Tradition."

Naturally, A&M officials claimed that the school had nothing to do with the proclamation.

Alas, the billboard could not do its job. Florida upset Texas A&M 20-17, as the Aggies, as usual, blew a second-half lead, in their SEC debut.

By the way, our guess is that the fine folks at Vanderbilt would take great issue with A&M's claim of SEC academic superiority.
