NCAA MOP & Hometown Hero Signing (Video)

Along with selecting Karl-Anthony Towns number one in June's draft, the Timberwolves also engineered a draft night trade with the Cavaliers, that brought Duke point guard and 2015 NCAA Tournament MOP Tyus Jones home. Jones grew up in the Twin Cities suburb of Apple Valley and was the 2014 Mr. Basketball in the state of Minnesota.

Wednesday night, iFolloSports.com was present as Jones was part of the Timberwolves second annual summer showcase at Target Center. The event included Towns, Zach LaVine and 2015 Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins.

Above is iFolloSports.com original video of Jones signing autographs, after the game had wrapped up.

iFolloSports.com also covered many original stories featuring Jones being recruited by college basketball's biggest coaches, while he was in high school.

Local fans really wanted Jones to stay home and play for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, but winning a national title at Duke and then coming back at the NBA level, to join such a young and talented team, seems like the correct way to go about things.
