Something Smells Funny In Eugene
Remember when Oregon safety Cliff Harris was stopped for driving 118 miles per hour, last June, while also carrying a suspended license. It is now being reported that starting quarterback Darron Thomas was a passenger in the same speeding vehicle, which had been rented by a university employee.
The story gets even more interesting for Mr. Harris.
In a statement, Harris told law enforcement officials that he borrowed the car from a girlfriend.
Video taken by a police dashboard camera also shows Oregon state police officer Ray Stallsworth smelling a strong aroma and asking Harris if there was any marijuana in the car.
Harris amazingly replies, "We smoked it all," which Stallsworth repeats.
Harris now claims that his cousin was the one smoking, after originally stating that there were no drugs inside the vehicle.
The defensive back has been suspended for the season opener versus Louisiana State.
