The Texas Longhorns Home Locker-room Is Ridiculous (Video)
The Texas Longhorns football program plays its home games at 93-year-old Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium. While the mega 100,000-seat Big 12 stadium absolutely represents an ode to The Lone Star State past, the Longhorns brand new locker-room provides players with a glimpse into a highly technological Austin future.
Currently in its first season of use, Texas’ new $10 million team space features 40-plus-inch wide lockers, adorned with 43-inch televisions. The large TV’s showcase personalized names plates, along with photos and bios of the player who uses the locker, as well as highlights of the player and individual training instruction.
Located in the Moncrief-Neuhaus Athletic Center (attached to the south end of the stadium), the locker-room serves as the player dressing area for both games and practices.
Here is a look at the amazing digs, including the players’ initial reaction when first seeing their new home.
