Out With Manning & In With A Little Luck

Out With Manning & In With A Little LuckWednesday, as has been widely reported, the Indianapolis Colts released legendary quarterback Peyton Manning. Manning threw for 54,828 yards and 399 touchdown passes during his 14 total years in Indy. The above stats represent Manning's numbers over the 13 years he spent as Colts starter (he missed the entire 2011 season with a neck injury).

Manning's yards and TD passes place him third all-time behind Dan Marino and Brett Favre.

The Tennessee alum won 141 games as a starter for the Colts, placing him fourth all-time on that prestigious list.

Manning transformed the Colts from a dormant franchise to one of the most marquee teams in the NFL. Over that period, Indy set a league record of seven straight seasons with 12 or more wins.

Manning led the Colts to two Super Bowl appearances, with one victory over the Bears in Super Bowl 41.

Take a look at a recent iFolloSports.com original photo and story involving Stanford QB Andrew Luck, the man who will almost certainly replace Manning, after the Colts choose him number one in next month's NFL Draft.
