Kansas State went into Morgantown, as a three-point underdog against West Virginia. QB Collin Klein took the lead in the Heisman Trophy race, by running for four touchdowns and passing for three more, in a 55-14 rout. The game was not nearly as close as the final score indicated, as the Wildcats led 52-7, late in the third quarter.
Louisiana State was a four-point favorite at Texas A&M and escaped with a 24-19 victory. The Aggies led early 12-0, behind the dazzling quarterbacking of freshman Johnny Manziel. The Bayou Bengals then tallied 24 unanswered points, with its stout defense asserting itself.
Florida was a three-point favorite over South Carolina, in the Swamp, and pounded the Gamecocks 44-11. The Gators had only 29 total yards in the first half, but led 21-6, after USC's three turnovers, setting up touchdown drives of 29 yards, 2 yards and 1-yard.
Following an impressive win over Georgia, South Carolina has lost on the road to LSU and Florida.
Baltimore was a 6.5-point underdog at Houston and was mauled by the Texans 43-13. Houston thoroughly dominated the game between two 5-1 teams, the best records in the AFC. Houston beat Baltimore for the first time in seven all-time meetings.
Washington was a six-point underdog at the New York Giants. Eli Manning outdueled rookie sensation Robert Griffin III, lifting the Giants to a comeback win. Manning hooked up with Victor Cruz for a 77-yard TD, with 1:13 to play, giving New York a 27-23 victory.
