Which “Can't Miss” QB Did Mel Kiper Totally Whiff On?

ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper was raving about a quarterback who he projected as the top pick in the NFL Draft.
Kiper went on and on regarding the QB's ability to immediately energize the fanbase and locker room of his new team.
“Three years from now, you could be looking at a guy that's certainly one of the elite top five quarterbacks in this league. You're talking about a 2-3 year period, once he's under center. Look out because the skill level that he has is certainly John Elway-like," explained Kiper.
No, he was not talking about Andrew Luck; the quotes come from the 2007 draft, when Kiper was waxing poetic about Oakland Raiders bust JaMarcus Russell.
