Best & worst of times for Reggie Bush

Reggie BushSaints running back Reggie Bush is absolutely loving life in the Big Easy these days.  The defending Super Bowl Champion will be center stage during the Saints much anticipated NFC Championship Game rematch vs. Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings.

The constant talk of statistical underachievement has subsided for Bush, since he can now boast a Super Bowl ring. Saints fans will almost certainly give the former second overall pick a temporary pass, as the state of Louisiana continues to bask in their championship honeymoon.

The same level of joy does not exist for Bush back in his native Southern California.  Already reeling from severe NCAA sanctions against his alma mater, the University of Southern California, resulting from Bush being ruled ineligible for part of the 2004 and all of the 2005 college football season, Bush may have an unprecedented penalty thrown his way.

Based upon a Yahoo! Sports report, the Heisman Trophy Trust will relieve Bush of his 2005 Heisman Trophy.  This would be the first time in the 75-year life of the award that such a circumstance would take place.

Without question, Bush is relishing every moment of his pro football life.  No controversy, no wide ranging allegations, just an adoring fan base and championship accolades at every turn.

Bush's level of ease in New Orleans has been on full display during both the offseason and Saints' training camp. Below is a piece of video showing Bush signing autographs for fans outside of team headquarters in Metairie, Louisiana.

For Bush, it appears the NFL season cannot start soon enough.

Saints fans, if you have encountered a player or coach during the championship offseason, we at iFollo.com would love to hear about it.  Share your story of Saints glory with the world.
