Calvin Johnson Annual Charity Gala In Detroit | Photo

Last weekend, Detroit Lions superstar WR Calvin Johnson hosted the 6th Annual “Catching Dreams” Scholarship Athlete Extravaganza. The charity event was held at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center hotel. The gala featured a VIP reception, silent auction, followed by dinner and the evening's program.

Johnson's foundation annually awards 5 or 6 tuition scholarships, 18 book scholarships, as well as multiple STEM teacher mini-grants, to student/athlete recipients in both Detroit and Atlanta. This year's tuition scholarship winners will be attending Michigan State (2), Tiffin University, Saginaw Valley State and Harvard.
