Jacoby Jones Scores For Fans Of The Ravens & Free Furniture
When the Ravens' Jacoby Jones returned the opening second-half kickoff for a touchdown, he scored six points for Baltimore, while winning a whole lot of free furniture for fans back home in Maryland.
Gardiners Furniture (five Baltimore area locations) offered an unusual promotion for the Super Bowl. If a customer made a purchase at Gardiners, between January 31 and 3:00 PM Super Bowl Sunday, and the Ravens returned the opening kickoff of either half for a touchdown, the furniture would be free.
Jones opened the second-half by running back the kickoff 108 yards, tying an NFL record.
The company expected to give away about $600,000 in furniture. Luckily, the promotion was insured for a mere $12,000. A small price to pay, when considering the level of national and local exposure the store has been receiving since Sunday.
Gardiners wrote on its Facebook page: “We are so excited for our winners and for our wonderful RAVENS!”
