Lions Darius Slay Celebrates An Eddie Murphy Classic Movie Character (Photo)

Last month, Lions defensive back Darius Slay Jr. appeared and signed autographs at Elite Mr. Alan's, in the Detroit suburb of Redford, Michigan. Lance Martinez of My Detroit Sports was there and sent along this original photo.

Slay was at the event in conjunction with the 30th Anniversary of “Beverly Hills Cop II.” The famous Ty Mopkin designed Axel Starter jacket also re-debuted at the gathering.

Slay, a Georgia native, is now in his fifth NFL season and has quietly become one of the league’s best cornerbacks. These days, Slay generally covers the opponent’s best receiver.

For his career, the Mississippi State alum has 10 interceptions and 61 total deflections. Thus far in 2017, Slay claims 4 interceptions and 32 tackles, for the 5-4 Lions.

Prior to the 2016 season, the Lions rewarded Slay with a four-year/$48.15 million contract extension, with $23.1 millions guaranteed.
