A Look At Jim Harbaugh's Magnificent Bay Area Home (Photos)
In the two seasons since taking over the head coaching reins of the San Francisco 49ers, 49-year-old Jim Harbaugh has quickly emerged as one of the best and most respected sideline men in all of pro football. After years of continual struggle and disappointment, the once proud 49ers franchise now finds itself among the upper echelon of the NFL, with a future as bright as any team in the league. Without question, the highly intense, former NFL QB is the preeminent reason for San Francisco's long awaited return to prominence.
Harbaugh just completed the second year of his five-year/$25 million contract with the 49ers. This significant level of income, when combined with the Michigan alum's 15-season NFL career (10 as a starting QB) and four-year run as a major college head coach at nearby Stanford University, has allowed the married father of six (three children from first marriage) to live a life of opulence and luxury.
In the spring of 2012, the Harbaugh's purchased a four-bedroom/five-bathroom home, in the affluent Bay Area suburb of Atherton, for a cool $6,221,550. Here is a look at the exterior of the 6,127-square-foot abode, which sits on 1.3 acres of land.

The Harbaugh family moved into the mansion after selling their previous pad (located in the nearby city of Menlo Park) for $2.405 million.
The Harbaugh manor sits 20 miles northwest of the 49ers Santa Clara headquarters, 25 miles southwest of Candlestick Park, (team's home stadium) and 30 miles south of downtown San Francisco. Of course, after the upcoming 2013 season, the coach's practice and gameday venues will be one in the same, when the Niners open the doors to their brand new stadium, located literally across the street from the franchise's training facility.
In addition to serving as the home base of the Harbaugh crew, Atherton is also the residence of a couple “reasonably accomplished” sports icons named Jerry Rice and Willie Mays, as well as a significant group of titans from the business community, including renowned investment guru Charles Schwab, Facebook CEO Sheryl Sandberg and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt.
