Robert Woods is a wide receiver, entering his rookie NFL season with the Buffalo Bills. The Gardena, Calif. product was a standout track and football star at Junipero Serra High School. In 2010, Woods was an All-USA high school track and field selection, with Rivals.com declaring him the nation's No. 6 football recruit and No. 1 ranked football athlete overall.
Woods chose to stay close to home and play college football at USC, with 2011 serving as his most productive season. During that campaign, Woods totaled 1,292 yards, 15 touchdowns, with a remarkable 111 receptions (Pac-12 record). Those numbers earned him both 2011 consensus All-American and First-Team All-Pac-12 honors.
After his time at USC, Woods was selected by the Bills in the second round of the NFL Draft (41st pick). In Buffalo, Woods is expected to compete for a starting spot, along with fellow rookie and potential starting quarterback, Bills ‘first round selection EJ Manuel. Reports indicate that the brand new teammates have developed a nice chemistry; one that formed during pre-draft activities, as well as time spent at Buffalo's offseason workouts.
