Is Matthew Stafford Primed For Yet Another Big Passing Season? | Photo
Recently, Lance Martinez of My Detroit Sports stopped through Lions training camp, at the franchise’s football and corporate headquarters in Allen Park, Michigan, nine miles west of Ford Field, which is found in downtown Detroit.
Lance provides this photo of Pro Bowl quarterback Matthew Stafford, during a radio interview after practice.
Stafford is entering his 10th NFL season. In 2017, the Georgia alum signed a five-year/$135 million extension with the Lions, $92 million of which is guaranteed. At the time, it was the largest contract in NFL history.
The Dallas product deserves credit for transforming the long downtrodden franchise into that of one with a level of respectability, including a stretch of three winning seasons in the last four years. All told, Stafford has led the Lions to the playoffs three times.
Last season, the QB tossed 29 touchdowns, amid throwing for 4,446 yards.
For his career, Stafford has thrown for 216 touchdowns, while amassing an outstanding 34,749 passing yards.
