Minnesota Icon Prince Boldly Honored At US Bank Stadium Opener (Video)

Sunday night, the Minnesota Vikings opened up the brand new US Bank Stadium with a 17-14 win over the archival Green Bay Packers. While Sam Bradford’s incredible debut and Adrian Peterson’s meniscus injury were the biggest on field stories of the evening, the events of halftime also provided some memorable entertainment for the 67,000 fans in attendance.
In honor of Minnesota native Prince, who of course passed away in April at the age of 57, the Minnesota Orchestra, along with members of the music legend’s former band, the New Power Generation, performed a spirited rendition of “Purple Rain.”
