Peyton Manning's Return To Indy Dominates NFL Week 7 Storylines
Sunday night, in a highly anticipated primetime matchup, the 4-2 Indianapolis Colts (with young quarterback Andrew Luck), host Peyton Manning and the 6-0 Denver Broncos. Manning, who completely turned around the Colts franchise, during his 13 seasons as their starting quarterback, faces his former team for the first time since the two parted ways back in March of 2012. As a member of the Colts, Manning was a Super Bowl Champion, 4-time MVP and 12-time Pro Bowl selection. As a result of his iconic status in the State of Indiana, Sunday will no doubt be an emotional night for Manning and his many fans.
The Colts, under Manning, dominated the Broncos, winning 8 of their 10 meetings, including their most recent game in 2010. Manning owns an 82-32 all-time record in Indianapolis.
For all of Manning's career success, 2013 is on track to be his best season to date. The 37-year-old has already tossed 22 touchdown passes, while netting 2,179 passing yards for the high flying Broncos, who have scored a league high 265 points. Going back to last year, the Broncos have won 17-straight regular season contests
Adding to the intrigue, Indy Owner Jim Irsay really stoked the fire this week, when intimating that the Colts should have won more than one Super Bowl with Manning at the helm.
Not to be forgotten, Andrew Luck, in his short time as Colts starter, has done a great job replacing Manning, posting a 15-7 record, with a postseason appearance last year.
