The Philadelphia Eagles and LA Angels Are Combining Forces This Week

Eagles Practicing At Angels StadiumSunday night, the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Seattle Seahawks 24-10, at CenturyLink Field in Seattle. This upcoming Sunday, the 10-2 Eagles take on the 9-3 Rams, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

With Philly’s early December schedule calling for back-to-back West Coast matchups, the NFC East leaders elected to fly from Seattle directly to the Los Angeles area, as opposed to heading back to Pennsylvania, which would have set the team up for four cross-country flights, within the span of eight days. Now sitting safely in Southern California, the Eagles are basing themselves in Orange County.

Wednesday through Friday, the club will hold practice at Angel Stadium, the LA Angels’ Anaheim (CA) home ballpark. The Eagles will conduct on-field, conditioning and training efforts at the venue.

The Rams called Angel Stadium home from 1980 through 1994. Upon the team’s departure for St. Louis, the facility transformed back to a baseball only space, amid shrinking seating capacity from 69,000 to 45,000.

The Eagles are staying at the Westin South Coast Plaza, in the nearby Orange County city of Costa Mesa. In addition to serving as the franchise’s lodging spot, coaches’ offices and secondary training room setups will also be present at the hotel.

Philly also stayed at this very same property prior to their October 1 game at the LA Chargers.

The Westin sits eight miles south of Angel Stadium, 39 miles southeast of the Coliseum and just two miles east of the Chargers’ Costa Mesa team headquarters.
