Where Does Sean Payton Live?
Over the last few days, much discussion has taken place involving New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton's decision to purchase a home in suburban Dallas. Rumors immediately swirled that Payton could be taking a position in the Cowboys front office or even that his marriage might be on the rocks. Turns out that the Payton family has always eyed a return to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and they felt that now was the best time to relocate their school age children back to Texas. Payton served as a Cowboys assistant before accepting his current position with the Saints.
But, where does Sean Payton live?
The Payton's will be moving into a home within the confines of the Vaquero Golf Club in Westlake, Texas. Westlake is located 30 miles northwest of Downtown Dallas and 23 miles north of Downtown Fort Worth. When Payton worked for the Cowboys, he lived in the neighboring city of Southlake. The Westlake/Southlake area is situated 20 miles west of the Cowboys' Valley Ranch headquarters in Irving, Texas. Southlake is the home of Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and legendary player and broadcaster Pat Summerall.
Yep, Tony Romo's house is in Southlake as well.
The Payton's mansion is the former property of New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira. Teixeira lived in the 8,554 square foot, five bedroom, five bathroom mansion when he played for the Texas Rangers. The golf club is 22 miles north of the Rangers home stadium in Arlington, Texas. Because of this proximity, many current Rangers including owner Chuck Greenberg and American League MVP Josh Hamilton also live in the development. In addition, the Payton's will be neighbors with the teeny bopper group the Jonas Brothers.
While reports indicate that Sean will still be spending most of his time in the New Orleans area, it appears that the rest of his family will be residing in a very comfortable and prestigious setting.
