The Rams Temporary Practice Facility Will Not Win Any Beauty Contests (Photo)

The Rams Thousand Oaks Practice Facility At California Lutheran UniversityWith the Los Angeles Rams now fully ensconced back in Southern California, the franchise’s nomadic offseason and training camp setup has come to a conclusion. For a minimum of two years, the Rams will base their offseason and regular season football operation out of two recently constructed modular buildings, on the very north end of California Lutheran University (CLU), in the northwest LA suburb of Thousand Oaks (training camp will continue to be held in Irvine). The temporary structures are flanked to the east by two brand new, NFL quality practice fields.

The photo in the upper right showcases Building 1 of the rather nondescript complex, which plays host to coaches, football operations, training staff and scouts offices, as well as conference and meeting rooms.

Building 2 (not pictured) houses locker, training, conditioning and media areas of operation, with this section of the complex directly facing the two practice fields.

All told, the Rams’ temporary football headquarters encompasses in the neighborhood of 52,000-square-feet.

Until a permanent and combined football and business operational headquarters is built (most likely in the general area of Thousand Oaks), the business side of the team will be based in an Agoura Hills (CA) office park, 10 miles from CLU.

Here is time-lapse video that documents the construction process of the Rams temporary CLU facility, which sits 48 miles northwest of the LA Coliseum.
